Seasiders scuppered by single point.

Hendy 14.

Tenby United 13.

Tenby United lost their top-three clash at Hendy by just a single point as the home side moved into joint first place as a result of their narrow win.

There was scant consolation for the Seasiders in the fact that they claimed a bonus point and actually outscored Hendy by two tries to one. Veteran back-rower Justin Richards marked his return to action with a close range try alongside a try by player/coach Emori Katalau.

Tom Lewis managed a penalty but missed both conversions, which was to prove vital since opposing kicker Lee Evans landed three penalties for Hendy, as winger Simon Sloane grabbed their only try to give them revenge over Tenby for an 18-13 defeat at Heywood Lane.

Tenby United: Steve Ireland, Dai Merrick, Gavin Brace, Mark Heywood, James Davies, Tom Lewis, Rhys Thomas, Ben Cray, Mark Brace, Damian Hanlon, Nicky Allen, Emori Katalau, Harry Bolton, Richard Rossiter, Justin Richards. Replacements: Arthur Maulio-Martino, Gareth Nock, Ed Richards.

Division Five West Wasps edged out at Ponty.

Pontyates 16.

Llangwm 11.

Llangwm battled hard with something of a makeshift squad at Pontyates, but the home side held on for victory despite a concerted late effort from the Wasps.

Llangwm, who had beaten Ponty at Pill Parks by 25-18, trailed for much of the match after Andrew Evans had kicked the home side into an early three-point lead, but the Wasps responded with an unconverted try from busy flanker Bill Brant.

A second Evans penalty restored Ponty into the driving seat. Winger Matthew Jones rounded off some good handling with a good try which Evans converted before he also kicked a third penalty in the second period.

The Wasps kept plugging away, however, and winger Steve Picton slotted two penalties to take Llangwm just a single try away - but Ponty defended well and the Wasps had to settle for a solitary bonus point.

Llangwm: James Venables, Steve Picton, Graham Badham, Danny Chesmer, James Rees, Ian Griffiths (Capt), Henry Thomas, Gareth Bevan, Johnny James, Will Scriven, James Griffiths, Hamish Nicholls, Bill Brant, James Lewis, Simon Brick (Dan Morgan).
