Plans for an underground gas pipeline to supply a proposed £800million power station at Pembroke was given the thumbs up by planners this week.
The application for the RWE Npower pipeline was considered by Pembrokeshire County Council's planning committee on Tuesday.
The pipe will run from Waterston, under the haven, and across to west Pennar where the combined cycle gas turbine will be based.
Concerns raised included noise pollution, dust and fears that the site could be a target for terrorists.
Local member Cllr Martin Davies supported the application.
He said: "The application has caused a flurry of concern in recent months. But we can't have a power station without a gas supply."
