Colleagues of an LNG welding inspector who died suddenly at the site on Sunday have paid tribute to a popular and diligent work mate.

Anthony Peter Luff , of the Green, Pembroke died of a suspected heart attack at around 1pm on Sunday.

He was working at height and was evacuated by police and health and safety workers before being taken to Withybush Hospital.

"Tony was a well-liked, conscientious member of the Whessoe Volker Stevin Quality control team here at the Dragon LNG site," said a spokesman for Dragon LNG.

"Despite having only worked with us for a relatively short period, Tony had made friends quickly and gelled with his work mates.

"All of us here at the Dragon site extend our deepest sympathy to his fiancée and family."
