SEVEN new bungalows will be built in part of Pembrokeshire.

GRD Limited has taken on the contract on behalf of Pembrokeshire County Council for three one-bedroom, and four two-bedroom homes at Glasfryn, St Davids.

The bungalows will be energy efficient and built to EPC A specification including solar panels to assist tenants with running costs.

Cllr Jon Harvey, cabinet member for planning and housing delivery, said: “We are delighted to see work underway on this housing development in St Davids where demand for new homes of this type is high.

“This scheme is the latest in this administration’s plans to increase the amount of council housing available, a key priority for the authority.”

Cllr Bethan Price, the local member for St Davids, said: “The new development of affordable housing at the Glasfryn site is of massive importance to St Davids and surrounding area.

“The lack of affordable housing on this peninsular, and in Pembrokeshire, is high and I am so delighted to see the start of phase one as it will give hope to people who are in desperate need of affordable housing.”

The second phase of the development will lead to 11 more bungalows built. Anyone with any queries can contact the customer liaison team on housingCLO@pembrokeshire.gov.uk or by calling 01437 764551.
