Coastguards called to desperate dinghies

Coastguards were called to the aid of two broken down dinghies yesterday (Monday).

At 2.52pm a 12 foot Dinghy travelling on the Milford Haven waterway in the Burton area suffered from engine failure. The two people on board put out an emergency rescue message saying that they needed assistance to return to Hobbs Point.

A nearby vessel, the Strawberry Blonde, came to their assistance and towed them safely back to Hobbs point where they were met by St Govans coastguard rescue team.

Later tat afternoon a 14 foot dinghy with two crew onboard broke down near the field study centre at Dale Fort.

They were assisted by a local vessel that towed them back to Dale where they were met by Dale coastguards.
