A local man is in a critical condition in hospital after being fished out of the River Cleddau in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 26-year old was retrieved by fire crews from the river at around 2.20am on Saturday. Two fire appliances from Haverfordwest and the fire rescue boat attended the incident at the river side parallel to Quay Street.
Police and paramedics were also at the scene.
The man was taken to Withybush Hospital with serious injuries before being transferred to West Wales General Hospital. His condition is described as critical but stable.
Police said that they are investigating the incident.
"It appeared the man decided to enter the water for a swim," said a spokesman.
