Top Welsh chef Angela Gray will be showing how to get Christmas all wrapped up in the tastiest of ways when she joins the festive fun at Saundersfoot’s St Nicholas Market.

She will be helping to serve up a feast of seasonal food, decoration and gift ideas in the market’s heated harbourside marquee during the free three-which starts at 10am tomorrow (Friday).

The market – organised by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism – is going undercover in a heated harbourside marquee for the first time in its ten-year history, and will feature around 50 stalls showcasing food, drink, gifts and crafts.

There will be plenty of Pembrokeshire produce to taste and buy, some sizzling seasonal ideas from chef demonstrations and the chance to enjoy some tasty treats to drive away the winter chills, including crepes, mulled wine and a Christmas carvery.

There will also be Santa’s grotto, live music performances and children’s rides against the backdrop of Saundersfoot’s energy-saving Christmas lights which will see their switch-on at the end of November.

"I really enjoy coming to Saundersfoot, and I’ve got some lovely, creative Christmas ideas to share with people," said Angela.

"There is nothing more heart-warming than making, giving and receiving an edible gift.

"It doesn’t cost the earth, looks fantastic and really shows you care."

Goodies such as mulled fruits, marinated olives, flowerpot bread and truffles will all be made by Angela on the Saturday and Sunday of the festival, to be packed up in hampers to be raffled at the event.

She will also be cooking up a stylish seasonal menu as well as creating other ideas for gifts.

There will also be ideas for floral displays and table settings using goods from local shops, while children will be able to try their hand at making golden pears and Christmas tree cookies.

"There will be plenty of tasters and nibbles for everyone to try throughout the demonstrations, and of course, recipe sheets to take home," said Angela.

"It will all be really informal and fun, and I expect we’ll have some mulled wine on the go as well!"

The market will be open from 10am to 8pm on Friday, December 4th, and Saturday, December 5th, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, December 6th.

The event is supported by Pembrokeshire County Council, the Welsh Assembly and European funding.
