Pembrokeshire County Council has said that its gritting lorries are out in force today (Thursday) following more snow overnight.

Gritters are busy working on primary roads at present and the council has said that priority routes are passable with care.

More than 20 road gritters and snow ploughs been used to clear local roads. The council has said that each gritting lorry is providing 24 hours a day cover, with three gritting crews per lorry working round the clock shifts.

Brian Maddocks, head of maintenance, said yesterday that the council had adequate salt supplies to keep the primary routes gritted for the next three days with fresh supplies coming in daily.
