Friends group set up to ensure Fishguard's Theatr Gwaun flourishes

A group set up has been set up to ensure that Fishguard's Theatr Gwaun flourishes, following rumours about possible closure.

A meeting at the theatre on January 26th to gauge opinion and to establish a way forward attracted over 40 people.

Almost all of these were representatives of the many groups which use the theatre. Christine Willison County Arts Officer was present and answered questions put by the meeting.

"There was overwhelming support to constitute a Friends of the Theatre group," said June Cooper and Jill Edge who called the meeting.

Another meeting will soon be called at Theatr Gwaun to establish the group.
