A COUPLE are cycling from London to Paris for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Jane Bryant and Jon Ainsworth are among over 50 people taking part in the 280km ride over the August Bank Holiday.

Jane, of Ludchurch, and her partner Jon, enjoy cycling for pleasure, but the three-day challenge is the longest they have attempted.

It begins at the Marie Curie Hospice in Surrey and finishes at the Sorbonne University, Paris, where Marie Curie carried out many of her studies.

The pair have four children between them. Jon is an Army warrant officer stationed at Blandford and Jane is a receptionist at Elizabeth Anne Beauty Salon, Haverfordwest.

They fit training activities, such as practice rides, runs and trips to the gym, into their busy schedules.

They are also working hard to raise £2,000 for the charity that funds cancer research and provides free home nursing for terminally ill people. Planned events include a raffle, a car boot sale, a sponsored car wash and door-to-door collections.
