DEAR EDITOR, - Pembrokeshire County Council has boasted that it has set the lowest council tax in Wales with an increase of only £27.09 (5%) over last year for band D.
What it fails to mention is that my band F home has gone up £191.24 (22%).
Similarly, we are told that band D has only had an increase of 0.3% for the Dyfed-Powys Police Authority contribution. Yet, I have to fund an 18% increase for my contribution.
I wonder how they calculated that this year I am 60 times more likely to use their services than my band D neighbour round the corner?
Mark Twain was right when he said that there were lies, damned lies and statistics.
ARCHIE BUCHANAN Tangnefedd, Dinas Cross.
