DEAR EDITOR, - I am a recent resident, of two-and-a-half-years, to Pembroke Dock. I like it here a lot - including the people. I buy the Western Telegraph and saw the BBC programme Dragon's Eye.
I was a bit shocked concerning one of our council members, Brian Hall, allegedly making 'specific threats' against the BBC journalist, Simon Morris - which was reported on the BBC programme and reinforced by the Western Telegraph (March 2nd).
I understand that Brian Hall is a long-serving and respected councillor.
The allegations are quite serious and as he is an elected representative, I feel he must answer these allegations.
We are all aware that some journalists and TV presenters can deliberately go out of their way to sensationalise, and therefore create a voyeuristic interest, when there is none. But other people and the police have not dismissed the episode immediately.
Anyone, including Councillor Brian Hall, can say things 'in haste' and I feel it only fair that Mr Hall is given the opportunity to set the record straight. After all, he has only been accused of losing his temper, under duress, and defending himself.
I feel that it is very important that Brian Hall comes forward to answer these allegations and present his defence. As an elected representative of 'the people', I am sure he will do so.
ROBERT W. FLIGHT Flat 2, Albion Stores, Clarence Street, Pembroke Dock.
