CERYS Matthew is expecting her second child.

The singer and her music producer husband Seth Riddle already have an 18-month-old daughter, Glenys Pearl y Felin, and live in Nashville.

The former Catatonia star - whose parents Pauline and Phillip Matthews, reside at Trefin - made the announcement on S4C while talking to former Wales rugby international Jonathan Davies on his chat show.

Fellow guest Aled Jones said his wife was expecting their second child and that was when Cerys made her own announcement.

She and Seth were married in February 2002 at Rehoboth Chapel, near Square and Compass.

Cerys returned to Pembrokeshire for Glenys' birth at Withybush General Hospital later that year and there is speculation over where the new baby will be born.

Cerys has continued her singing career, and although living in the United States returns regularly to Wales.

Her mother Pauline told the Western Telegraph: "We are absolutely delighted with the news and are looking forward to our new grandchild. This will be our fourth - we have two grandsons from our elder daughter and of course Glenys Pearl, Cerys's daughter.

"We are currently enjoying the pleasure of Glenys Pearl's company. She is staying with us while Cerys is in Cardiff."
