Slebech Park - the multi million pound dedicated meeting venue near Haverfordwest - has opened the first phase of its conferencing facilities to non-residential delegates.

The Orangery, situated within the grade two-listed coach house, can cater for up to 16 delegates.

Slebech Park has already received its first visitors, with Milford Haven Port Authority holding a senior management meeting there.

Ted Sangster, Port Authority general manager, said: "Slebech Park offers a unique environment as its idyllic setting makes it an inspiring place to do business where one can focus properly on the issues at hand.

"The facilities are first class and the attention to detail in its development will not only put this place on the map in Wales, but in the rest of the UK."

Once fully open next year, Slebech Park will offer businesses state-of-the-art facilities for up to 30 residential delegates and their partners.

These include an ecologically designed interpretation and exhibition centre, a health spa, swimming pool, restaurant and 30 individually designed bedrooms finished to a very high standard and arranged as 12 two or three-bedroom suites.

Geoffrey Philipps, chief executive of Slebech Park, said: "Our five-star development will bring to the area a new type of client, who will find that Pembrokeshire is an attractive place to do business."

When business is over, delegates can take benefit of the tranquil surroundings and a range of outdoor pursuits, including fishing, boating, clay pigeon shooting, cycling or a walk in the estate grounds.

In the traditional holiday weeks, Slebech Park converts from a conference facility to a Private Members' Club.

The development is located on the 600-acre family run estate in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park.

The coach house is being painstakingly restored by Geoffrey Philipps and his wife Georgina, who has 30 years' experience as a leading interior designer.
