EVERY householder in Pembrokeshire will have to pay the price of a £30,000 vandalism spree.
In a mindless orgy of destruction, vandals damaged 11 vehicles at Pembrokeshire County Council's depot on the Thornton Industrial Estate, Milford Haven.
The cost of repairs is likely to be passed on to the 54,000 households in the county and it could amount to 60p each.
The vehicles targeted included: A new 70-seater school bus; three refuse lorries; a mini bus for the disabled; two tractors; a mobile toy library; a maintenance vehicle; an engineering vehicle.
Said council cabinet member, Cllr Brian Hall: "The vandals got on to the school bus and used the emergency hammer to smash every single window. The damage to this vehicle alone is estimated at between £5,000 and £6,000."
Other vehicles also had their windscreens and windows shattered and one car was totally 'trashed' and had yellow aerosol paint sprayed on it.
Cllr Hall added: "We have experienced some vandalism at the depot before, but not to this extent. By causing this destruction they have ended up targeting the young and the disabled.
"We do have CCTV cameras at the depot and we hope that this will help police find the culprits quickly.
"We are offering a £200 reward for any information leading to a conviction. Anyone who can help should contact the police."
Vehicle vandalism is on the increase in the county, with nearly every area receiving complaints from motorists about broken wing mirrors, snapped aerials, and scratched paintwork.
