Narberth (112 for 6) beat Pembroke (108 all out) Umpires: Alan Hansen and John Williams Scorers: Idwal Vincent and Keith Mitchell

Pembroke lurched close to relegation as they went down to a four-wicket defeat against a Narberth side which maintained its top-four placing as a result of generally holding the edge after winning the toss and inviting the team from Treleet to bat first.

Pembroke were in immediate trouble as Paul White was run out for a duck and key run gatherer Mark Fraser also failed to trouble the scorers as he edged a Richard Prout delivery into Asher Stanford's gloves.

Matthew Mitchell was adjudged to have done exactly the same and when William Davies was also bowled by Jones it left Pembroke in the parlous state of 21 for 4. They were let off the hook a little by some wayward Narberth bowling as 16-year-old Paul Hay batted really well and found support from veteran left-hander Hugh Davies in a stand of 37 before Davies chipped an off drive straight to Jones at long-off to give Nick Evans his first wicket - and the off-spinner soon added the scalps of Damon Hulbert and hay, who had three boundaries in his 21 before He drove a ball straight back to Evans in a 3 for 12 stint.

Former captains Nigel Phillips and Gwyn Griffiths joined stand-in captain Kevin Jenkins in trying to redress the balance but Pembroke managed 108 all out thanks to 'Mr Extras' supplying top score of 22 runs. James Devonald looked strong for Narberth early on as they lost Asher Stanford and Clive Jones cheaply to Griffiths, the young opener striking four fours and a six in his 40 made out of the first 58 runs before he was bowled by Martin Fletcher.

There was a slight wobble for Narberth as they lost three further wickets on the run-in but Ritchie Adams held on well for an unbeaten 30 to see them home to a deserved success.
