THE last programme of the current series of Any Questions? - BBC Radio 4's topical discussion programme hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby - was recorded in front of a full house at Letterston Memorial Hall last week.

Mr Dimbleby was joined by panelists, Labour MP Bob Marshall-Andrews QC, who has a home at Druidston; Liberal Democrat spokesman on Wales and Northern Ireland Lembit Opik; deputy director of the Conservative Party think tank, The Bruges Group, Nikki Page, and The Times' political columnist, Matthew Parris.

Audience members were invited to submit questions about current affairs for discussion by the panel.

Issues raised and hotly debated included Tony Blair's 'unpopularity' in the wake of recent events; the possible abolition of trial by jury, and the Church of England's stance on gay clergy.

Among the audience was ITV weather girl Sian Lloyd, friend of Lembit Opik. At the end of the broadcast, Jonathan Dimbleby thanked the audience for their participation. "You have been the very best audience we have had for a long time," he said.
