J. J. Morris reports STORE CATTLE (518): An excellent entry forward for the time of year once again drew a large company of buyers to the mart.

There was a reasonable trade throughout, particularly on the younger cattle. Top price was £730 for 3x Limousin steers presented by Howells, Cefnfarchen, Llanfallteg with heifers selling to £690 for a Limousin from Evans, Glynceinach Farm, Pwlldu Lane and young bulls to £680 for a Limousin from Vaughan, Coedcefnlas Farms. Steers averaged £435, heifers £354 and young bulls £235.

A reduced entry forward nevertheless sold to a steady trade with a top price of £965 from Thomas, Wenallt, Bancyfelin and an overall average of £576 with in-calvers selling to £580 for a pair of Limousins from Harries, Little West, Walton East and averaged £467. A Limousin bull from James, Blaencowin Cynwyl Elfed sold at £1150 with a Simmental from Thomas, Maesllyn, Tremain selling at £500.
