Narberth Classic Motorcycle Club is urgently looking for suitable land to rent next April, after being asked to host a round of the prestigious Welsh Classic Scramble Championship in 2006.

The club, now in its tenth year, has been running classic scrambles and trials for solo and sidecar machines at a number of venues in Pembrokeshire.

Classic scrambles are becoming increasingly popular with riders and spectators who remember the golden years when British men and machines were dominant.

The sound, sight and especially the smell of castor oil and methanol fuel adds to the nostalgia at these events where spectators can wander about the paddock meeting the riders and viewing some beautifully turned out machines.

Despite being on the wrong side of 60, a surprising number of yesterday's star riders still race, and there is a thriving European classic championship, to be held in Britain in 2006.

The club meets at Narberth Rugby Club on the first Monday of every month.

If anyone has, or knows of, any suitable land to hold the Welsh Championships, contact John Caffrey on 01437 710595.
