Fishing Competition in aid of Wales Air Ambulance

THE fourth Wales Air Ambulance fishing competition took place last Sunday at Amroth beach and raised the fantastic sum of £1400 for the appeal.

It's a brilliant achievement and in the last four years that the competition has been running, the anglers from Pembroke and District Angling Club, Osprey Sea Angling Club and West Wales Match Anglers have raised a staggering £4,900 for this worthwhile cause.

Fishing was horrendous in awful conditions, but thanks to all the anglers who participated from the organising clubs, together with Roger Harris, of the Amroth Arms, who always puts his premises and valued support at this event's disposal.

Local Air Ambulance contact Peter Kraus, volunteer Pauline and her mates manned the Wales Air Ambulance trailer.

Sponsors who donated cash, made collections and donated prizes for the mega raffle were:

Lillian Griffiths, the staff of the Withybush operating theatres, Preseli Construction, Heatherton Country Sports Park, Roger Harris, Peter Kraus, PMS Autos, Phoenix Bowl, Consort, Allsorts, Pembroke Angling, Natural Foods, Angler's Corner, Sportsfishing International, Main Street Pembroke Petrol Station, Trevor's Electrical, TV Reynolds, John Cole Amusements, Pembroke and District Angling Club, West Wales Match Anglers, Osprey Sea Angling Club, Pembroke Haven Motor Boat Angling Club, Haven Angling Group, Paul Wakely, Steve Davies, Barry Lake, Alex Nicholas, Andrew Skeels, Leigh Rogers, John O'Connor, Malcolm Grenish, Haydn Cole and Shane Tucker.
