Pembrokeshire League Division One MILFORD UNITED 3 - CAMROSE 2

ANOTHER impressive hat trick from Nicky Woodrow spelled victory for Milford United over Camrose, despite the home side being reduced to ten men.

Possession of the ball was fairly even throughout the game. But it was the Robins who created opportunities and Woodrow who followed through to put the ball away.

The first goal came after 25 minutes when Woodrow picked up the rebound from a James Stanmore shot and powered it into the net.

Camrose lifted their game in response and both teams made several attempts at goal before the half-time whistle. But the shots went high and wide and the score stayed at 1-0.

An error by Milford keeper Steve Hartley should have been the turning point for Camrose, but it actually worked to the Robin's advantage.

Martyn Tweedy made an impressive run from halfway 55 minutes in. He was clipped by Hartley as he negotiated his way to an empty goal and the shot went wide. Referee Roy Boswell sent Hartley off and awarded a penalty.

Adi Smith hammered in the resulting penalty to square matters.

The Robins were down to ten men with William Goodall moving into goal and Steve Kenyon coming on for Anthony Patterson shortly afterwards. But this served as a sound motivator for the remaining players.

It was another Stanmore-Woodrow combination that saw Milford regain their lead in the 70th minute.

Stanmore's cross down the left-hand side was picked up by Woodrow and headed into the net from ten yards.

He completed his hat trick by slipping past two players to fire a high velocity shot which keeper Andrew Mathias had no answer for.

Tweedy grabbed what was a late consolation for the visitors, but the chirpy Robins deservedly held on for the points.
