A NARBERTH-BORN singer is taking on America again in her double-decker bus campaign for British music.

Following a successful tour in 2005, Julia Jones will get on the road in the spring for the second BritBus Tour.

The former Whitland Grammar School pupil, who takes to the Queens Hall stage with her band Propane Buddies on January 27th, relocated to New York in 2003 to record her first album and to launch the major music event.

The tour was launched last year to promote British music using a classic red double-decker bus.

The first New York to LA tour attracted enough media attention to reach millions of people and secured enough interest from media partners to continue the campaign.

After performing in Narberth at the end of the month, Julia and her band will return to America for the second 4,000 mile tour performing at US towns and cities including LA, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, and finally Times Square in New York.

Julia intends to make The BritBus Tour event a household name in America by 2007.

"The aim is to secure enough support from sponsors and industry partners to afford to send different young British acts out on the road to run this event each year," she said. "It is a very effective way of bringing new British music to the attention of consumers in the huge US market. The double-decker bus carries listening posts loaded with the latest British albums."
