Five out of seven child sex abuse charges faced by a former Milford Haven man have been thrown out of court today (Wednesday).

Dean Timothy Martin Davies, aged 50, was cleared of one charge of indecent assault and two of committing acts of gross indecency on two young boys between 1989 and 1992.

Judge Huw Davies also ruled that two further charges of indecent assault would be withdrawn.

The trial against Davies now continues in relation to two serious sexual offences Judge Davies made the rulings at Swansea crown court at the conclusion of the prosecution case.

Davies was jailed in 1999 for 19 sex offences involving six boys. Recently, two further complainants came forward claiming he also assaulted them.

In 1999 Davies lived at Oaklands, on the Mount Estate, and the men told the jury that when they were boys Davies sexually assaulted them after giving them cannabis and alcohol.

Miss Abigail Bache, the barrister representing Davies, accused the men of telling "malicious lies" and said they had picked on Davies because they knew of his previous convictions.

Davies, who now lives in Bristol, will give evidence tomorrow (Friday) and the case is expected to conclude on Wednesday.

Davies denies the allegations.
