THE magic of Hollywood brought thousands to the streets of Milford Haven for the annual town carnival on Saturday.

Organised by Milford Haven Round Table, with sponsorship from South Hook LNG, it was a film-filled affair, with everyone from Lara Croft to Optimus Prime taking part.

After a spectacular parade from Waterloo Square and past the judges at the Town Hall, it was on to Pill Fields for an afternoon of family fun and games, where a breathtaking movie stunt display stole the show.

St Katharine’s Stratford Players claimed the hearts of the judges to win the £500 top prize for best float with their chosen theme Alice in Wonderland.

Milford Haven Gym Club claimed second prize as the Crew of the Milford Pearl, and James Street’s Peter Pan and the Lost Boys swashbuckled their way into third place overall.

There were also prizes for walking entries, and Steven Clark was also presented with a community award for his longstanding support and contribution to the carnival - he has entered every year for almost 30 years.

Martin Wilcox, secretary for the Round Table, said: “We would just like to thank the people of Milford Haven for getting involved with the floats, and coming out to support the carnival on the day.”
