A DISUSED Garden Centre with a complex planning history looks set to be developed as a small housing complex.

A report due to come before a meeting of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s Development Management Committee on January 21 recommends an application to build three detached houses with garages and gardens at the site in The Rhos be delegated and approved, subject to conditions.

An application to build six houses – included two “affordable” dwellings – at the former Garden Centre was refused. In 2008, a plan to redevelop the site to include affordable housing was granted outline permission by the Authority, and last year an application to build 12 “residential units” and one to build two pairs of semi-detached houses and a community allotment were withdrawn.

The Development Committee will also consider an application for a new build, four bedroom, 1.5 storey dwelling on a plot between Cartref and Fernlea in Nolton Haven, which lies to the north of the road running through the village. The site is currently a gap in a line of bungalows.

The application is recommended for refusal, due to “limited public transport to provide accessibility”.
