Yvonne Pye and Nicky Tayler raised £753 for Fishguard’s Rainbow Support Centre through braving the waves at Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim.
FISHGUARD'S Rainbow Support Centre recently received £753 for braving the freezing sea during Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim.
The centre's founder, Yvonne Pye, frolicked in the ice cold waves despite being diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer last year. She was joined by centre supporter Nicky Tayler.
Their sterling efforts were rewarded with a £500 cheque from the New Year's Day Swim, presented by mascot, Charlie Shivers. They also raised £153 JustGiving page.
The Rainbow Support Centre in West Street, Fishguard, provides a drop in service and complementary therapies to people with cancer and life limiting illness. For more information visit the Facebook page or pop into the building at 19 West Street, Fishguard.
