A MEMBER of the public was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance after being taken ill at the Pembroke School, Pembroke this afternoon, March 15.

Emergency services were in attendance at the site.

Pembrokeshire County Council said the incident does not affect pupils or staff.

Pembroke School posted on Facebook: 

"A member of the public has been taken unwell at the top of the school site near to the astro turf and leisure centre.

"Emergency services are currently on the scene.

"The road into the school from Pembroke Road is currently closed.

"This incident does not involve any pupils or members of staff.

"Please do not come to the school site until the end of the school day to collect pupils."

Wales Air Ambulance stated: "The crew arrived on scene at 1.19pm and assisted emergency service colleagues. The crew left the scene at 2.06pm and conveyed a patient to Morriston Hospital, Swansea." 

UPDATED: 2.55pm: The roads have now re-opened.
