A CELEBRATION of 60 years of agricultural education at a west Wales college is taking place next week.
Coleg Sir Gar’s Gelli Aur College, near Llandeilo, will welcome former student and staff to an event which will include a farm tour, a display of photographs from the past six decades, an exhibition of agricultural engineering work and an additional display highlighting changes in machinery technology used on the farm.
The college is currently thriving, with increasing numbers and all full-time students progressing to higher education of employment last year. Major investment is being further developed with a £1.4 million new teaching and animal housing facility at the college’s Pibwrlwyd campus.
The 60th anniversary event is taking place at Gelli Aur on Monday, June 23rd from 2-5pm, with light refreshments provided.
