POLICE are investigating a spate of criminal damage in St Davids.

Sometime between 11.30pm on Friday, April 11 and 12.30am the following morning the wing mirrors and body panels of eight parked and unattended cars were damaged.

They were within the confines of the cathedral grounds, and property was also damaged in the Pebbles area of St Davids.

Sergeant Catrin Thomas of Haverfordwest Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “These offences have clearly caused upset and distress to the close-knit peaceful community of St Davids.

“These are mindless acts of damage to the vehicles of local residents. We are appealing for witnesses to come forward and provide any detail, however minor, that might assist us in identifying the persons responsible."

Canon Dorrien Davies added: “We are concerned about not only the damage done to people’s property, but the obvious distress that this spate of mindless vandalism caused residents in St Davids. We would prefer the perpetrators to come forward and admit to the crime, so that a line can be drawn under the incident. If anyone has any information we would deal with the matter with confidence and hopefully be able to help individuals concerned to accept responsibility and to make amends.”

Anyone with information should contact the investigating officer, PC 182 Nigel Lewis at Haverfordwest police station on 101.
