FISHGUARD’S Autumn Festival returned bigger and better for 2014, with a host of activities taking place across six days.

Organised by Fishguard and Goodwick Round Table, the event took place from October 28 to November 2.

Highlights included Fishguard’s Progressive Supper, with guests enjoying dishes at five different eating establishments, before enjoying live music at the Pendre Inn.

The vintage steam engines displays were a huge hit, with crowds gathering on Goodwick Parrog on Friday night.

The cawl crawl challenge also proved popular, with visitors sampling cawl from no less than 17 participating food premises. The coveted ‘best cawl’ award went to Amaryllis Flowers and Interiors.

The Mayor of Fishguard and Goodwick, Councillor Mike Lloyd said: “I would have loved to have gone to all of the events and I am grateful to the deputy mayor for standing in for me when I couldn’t attend.

“The amount of background work put in by the Round Table was out of this world and the feedback I’ve been getting has been excellent.

“The Autumn Festival is a breath of fresh air and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and business being brought into the towns.”

A spokesman from the Round Table said: “This year’s festival has been the best we've been able to put on. The amount of support we've had from local businesses and organisations has been tremendous, and it's with this support we've been able to provide the biggest and most varied line-up of events since the Festival began five years ago.

“This year’s festival was extremely well attended by both local and visitor alike and has served to showcase just what our little corner of Pembrokeshire has to offer.”
