One of the largest number of people ever attended the Remembrance Service in the village of Hook on Sunday.
It was the first service to be held at the relocated War Memorial, which is now situated in the newly constructed Miners Memorial Garden.
The service was conducted by the Rev Denis Payne and a reading was by the vice-chair of the Community Council, Richard Howells.
Following the traditional two minutes silence wreaths were laid representing: the Community Council; the villages' two places of worship and the James family, whose relative is one of those recorded on the memorial as a young man who paid the supreme sacrifice for his country.
