ALMOST 40 people got their running shoes on to take part in the annual Dinas Head race which took place on Bank Holiday Monday (May 26).

The race started 25 years ago in aid of the NSPCC and throughout the years has benefited many charities.

36 runners took on the course, including some who were on holiday in the area.

The overall winner was Mark Horsman of Cardigan Running Club in a time of just over 34 minutes. The first lady home was Angharad Mair of Les Croupiers with a time of 41 minutes and 49 seconds.

The first open male was Isaac Brown of Crystal Palace RC, the first male over 40 was Simon Norwood Croft Ambrey Runners, the first male over 50 was Paul Rose of Aberystwyth AC and the first male over 60 was Gordon Orme of Cardigan RC.

The first open lady was Madeleine Pritchard of Fairlands of Valley Spartans, the first lady over 35 was Bethan Ouseley and the first lady over 45 was Stephanie Mc Dowell.

The race organiser Roland Sherwood said: "I was very pleased with the turn out, and would like to thank all who turned to run and those who helped out. Also the land owners for the use of their land."
