RNLI Angle’s all-weather lifeboat was alerted recently following a report that a kayak, with two people on board, was facing difficulties in Jack Sound, near Martin’s Haven.
The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched at 2.36pm on August 30, and, while proceeding at best speed, it was confirmed that the kayak had made it through the sound and was heading for Martin’s Haven.
When the lifeboat arrived at Martin’s Haven, it was found that the casualties had made it ashore safe and well and were in the care of Coastguard rescue officers.
With no more assistance required, the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused at 3.50pm.
