PEMBROKE Dock Town Council has selected a new member to represent Pennar, following a vacant seat in the ward.

Councillor Guy Anderson will now represent the ward.

Cllr Anderson said: “I am delighted to be the new town councillor for Pennar.

“For the last 10 years I have been living abroad, working on events such as FIFA world cups and Olympic Games but I have always considered Pembrokeshire as home.

“Pembroke Dock to me is the most important town in the county and is ideally located to take full advantage of the beaches, cliffs, woodlands, moors and Preseli ‘mountains’ that are all within a short distance of here.

“PD was the only Welsh Royal Dockyard and should be benefitting from 200 years of intense history and heritage, however, it has always struck me each time I have returned to the town that PD almost seems embarrassed of its strengths.

“We are a military town founded in a time of war, patriotic fervour and technological revolution.

“Personally I think it is time to recognise the past and although that time is long gone it is no less important to todays’ living.

“I want to take an active role in a town I admire and look forward to working alongside those who are endeavouring to make a difference to The ‘Dock.”
