WELSH rugby legend Shane Williams MBE to start the 25th anniversary RNLI Castlemartin Range sponsored walk/run later this month.

The 25th anniversary event takes place from Newton Tower, near St Govan's on August 21.

Shane, training for Ironman Wales, will be joined by colleagues from the world of rugby former Welsh Rugby captain and vice chair of the Princes Gate Water Trust, Ryan Jones, and CEO of the Welsh Rugby Union, Martyn Phillips, and David Jones of Princes Gate Water, running the course as part of their training for Ironman Wales, as well as County Councillor Mark Edwards, training for Ironman Wales with Shane and David.

The walk site is open from 10am, for refreshments and for registration for the run/walk and novelty dog show. The dog show starts at 10.30am, sponsored by Burns Pet Food for the last five years. Walk with your ‘sponsored dog’ on a lead after the dog show.

The walk/run over the four or eight mile course starts at noon.

Other attractions on the day include the RNLI lifeguards; Stormy Stan, the children's RNLI Stormforce club mascot, and the RNLI souvenir stall.

The Angle Vintage Tractors group, great charity supporters, with their immaculate machines will also be on site.

All funds raised at this event go to the RNLI to equip RNLI volunteer crews in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
