AT a recent lunch meeting, Pembroke Rotarians were joined by four students from Pembroke School, who, this summer, had attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) course.
The week long course, held at Dolygaer Outdoor Education Centre in the beautiful foothills of the Brecon Beacons, takes in leadership and team working skills together with caving, gorge walking and canoeing.
The four students; Dylan-Rhys N Phillips, Bethany Simmons, Will Lloyd and Brianna Jenkins, gave an enthusiastic joint presentation of their experiences and benefits gained from the course.
They thanked Rotary for the opportunity of attending the course, and John Jones, head of 6th form at Pembroke School, thanked the Rotary Club of Pembroke for its continued support.
The presentation was very well received by the Rotarians, who agreed that the RYLA participants had fulfilled every expectation, and were to be congratulated.
