VISITORS can now follow in the footsteps of Caldey’s monks by stepping out on a newly-created walk on the island.

Taking in the highest point on the isle and offering some spectacular coastal views, the new walk was opened last week by BBC weather presenter Derek Brockway.

He was on Caldey filming for his Weatherman Walking programme, which is due to be screened next January.

Redberry Bay, on the island’s north side, is the starting point for the walk, which leads up to West Beacon Point and skirts around the beautiful Sandtop Bay – only accessible from the water.

From this high point, you can gaze as far down the coast as far as Barafundle, and view Tenby from a multitude of different angles.
