McINTOSH (North Shields). Peacefully in hospital on July 15th 2009 after prolonged illness, Douglas (mac) aged 80 years. A devoted husband to Sue, a dear brother and brother in law to Gordon and Ann, inspirational dad to Jim and Richard and proud grandfather to Owen, Sean, Eleanor and Caitlin. Born in Co. Durham, and having completed his National Service, he joined CA Parsons after graduating with a degree in Maths from Durham University. He then moved to Cheshire to work for the Nuclear Power Plant Company at Booths Hall and then TNPG at Radbroke Hall. He returned to the North East to work for BRSA (1971-1981) and the the RHA until retirement in 1993. Family and friends please meet for service at Tynemouth Crematorium on Friday July 24th at 12.30. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu may be sent to Help the Aged c/o Co-operative Funeral Services Ltd, Mill House, Billy Mill Ave, North Shields NE29 0QW. Always logical and thoughtful, Doug will be fondly remembered for his selflessness.
