MRS S. G. JOHN

CAMROSE

IT was with great sadness that family and friends learnt of the death of Sadie John, of Sunny Bank, Camrose, who was taken ill on the May Day Bank holiday and died at Withybush General Hospital just over a week later.

Aged 82, she was the wife of Thomas Owen John for 62 years. They had, within the warmth of their home, encouraged everyone to love life’s people and beautiful things, attending chapel together where Sadie had become a pillar of strength and support.

Sadie was definitely rich in friends near and far away.

Milford born, she was brought up at Haven House, North Road, and was employed in the fishing industry at Milford Docks prior to her marriage.

Her own large family were blessed with many people who so warmly touched her heart and were part of her life’s memories. Her genuine pleasant demeanor and kind-heartedness were hallmarks that characterised her to both the young and elderly – with her contagious, positive attitude and genuine consideration, love and care.

The fact that she will be sadly missed was manifest by the large attendance of relatives and sympathisers present at the funeral service and interment which took place at Bethel Chapel, Wolfsdale at which her minister, Rev Martin Spain, officiated, assisted by Mervyn Strand.

Principal mourners were: Thomas Owen John (husband); Kenneth and Christina John (brother-inlaw and sister-in-law); Mary Pettit (sister-in-law); Michelle John and Mark Roach, Angela and Don Wallcott, Robert Woodcock, Susan Counsel, Diane McGarvey, Stephen and Christopher Braithwaite and Pamela Humphreys (nephew and nieces) together with many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Lilly Chick and Lucy Twoser (sisters) were unable to be present.

The bearers were Peter Williams, John Morgans, George Thomas, Kerry Richards, Mark Roach and Nathan Roach.

There were family flowers only, but donations in lieu for Wolfsdale Chapel are being received by Kenneth John, Red House, Camrose.

The funeral arrangements were undertaken by Glyn Thomas, Freystrop.
