Family was always important to Terry and he was delighted when Huw married Becca in 2009 and Gareth married Suzanne in 2012.

Further joy followed when he became a granddad on the birth of Gareth and Suzanne’s son Eben in 2014.

Terry had an extensive range of hobbies and interests including photography, fishing, gardening, travel, walking and wood work where he made several pieces of furniture for the home and a rocking horse for Eben.

He is remembered by all his family as a kind and gentleman with a great sense of fun and mischief.

He was a long serving member of Burton Community Council and was committed to developing the local area for the residents and visitors to enjoy.

Mrs B Llewellin

Clarbeston Road

THE funeral of Brenda Margaret Dilys Clara Llewellin (nee Vaughan) took place in St Marys Church, Wiston followed by interment at St Martins Church, Clarbeston on March 4.

Nanny, as she was affectionately known, died peacefully at Blaenmarlais Care Home, Narberth on February 22.

Nanny was the 11th of twelve children born to John and Minna Vaughan of Clyn Farm in the Gwaun Valley.

She went to Llanychllwydog School until the age of 14 and worked at home after that, her mother and father both died when she was in her teens. After a few years she went to help her brother Archie (a bachelor) on his farm.

It was while she was there that she met Norman Beynon Llewellin from the Bill Farm.

They were married in 1943 in Ambleston Church and Mary, John and Margaret were born in Wallis before the family moved to Upper Lamboro Farm in 1947 where David, Carol, George and Richard were born. Having started farming in a small way they gradually built up their herd of cows before moving to Lower House Farm in 1967. Along with sons David and George they farmed very successfully there until their retirement in 1981 when they moved into Llwynon in Clarbeston Road.

Nanny made a lovely home at Llwynon and developed a thriving garden which she was very proud of. There was always a warm welcome at Llwynon for family, friends and neighbours, and the family party held every year on December 28 (Gampy’s Birthday) were always full of fun and laughter, with more grandchildren and great grandchildren joining in every year.

Norman passed away in 1989. She was devastated to have lost her husband but found comfort in her faith and church. Nanny joined in many of the local community activities, helping in particular with catering at events such as the village carnival, sports and gymkhana.

She enjoyed cooking and baking and regularly had her large family and friends over for food. Her Welsh cakes were renowned across the country. Nanny would visit the ‘old people’ in the village with cakes she had baked for them.

She was devastated when Alice, her second grandchild passed away in 2002 aged only 30, and daughter-in-law Anne in 2010, however she found strength in her faith.

January 2 2013 Nanny fell and broke her lip. She spent a few days in Withybush Hospital before going to South Pembs Hospital. She came home on March 20 and her family cared for at home until her health deteriorated and she required more support in an environment more suited to her needs.

She went to Blaenmarlais Care Home in Narberth where she settled in immediately.

She loved the staff who were like her family and she was very happy there.

There was a large gathering at St Mary’s Church, Wiston for her funeral. Officiating was the Rev Sian Wight, also present were the Rev Canon Roger Jones, Archdeacon Dennis Wight and Rev Derek Davies. The organist was Mr Seimon Morris with the Wiston Church Choir singing Rutter’s ‘For the beauty of the earth’ to start and ‘A Celtic Blessing’ at the conclusion.

Rhiannon James sang a solo in Welsh and Amy Snelle read a poem. The eulogy was given by Rev Canon Roger Jones who had been the vicar of the parish for 11 years and knew Nanny well. The bearers were her four sons John, David, George and Richard.

The mourners were Mary, John, Margaret, David, Carol, George and Richard (daughters and sons); Roey, Raymond, Nan, Peter and Karen (daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws); Margaret and Martin Pope, Anna and William Jones, Owen and Helen Roberts, Soozy Roberts and Danny Steel, James and Melissa Llewellin, Edward and Claire Llewellin, Rowland and Karen John, Gareth and Anna Llewellin, Rhiannon and Richard James, Peter Llewellin, David and Christine Roberts, Helen Louwrens, Stephen and Sarah Roberts, Ben and Nia Llewellin, Amy and Matthew Snelle, Gina and Lee Rees, Tracy and Jonathan Thomas, Kevin Llewellin, Robert Llewellin (grandchildren and partners), Fiona Morgan, Daniel, George and Jack Jones, Monty Roberts Shillington, Toby and Naomi Llewellin, Nia and Rhys Roberts, Ellie-May, Evan and Maisie Roberts (great grandchildren) along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
