THIS year's Cardigan County Show was unquestionably the largest ever staged by the Society and also attracted a record gate of holidaymakers and regular supporters.
Founded in 1854 and well serving the three counties the chairman, Morris Davies, said that this annual event was a very important day in the agricultural calendar and drew town and country people together to view all that is best in agriculture.
Indeed it was a Holstein second calver, Troedrhiw Taran Matilda owned by Morris and his wife, Nona, and expertly presented in the show ring by their daughter, Fflur, that took the dairy championship ahead of a red and white Holstein from the Santa Maria herd owned by the Hack family of Rhydlewis.
The beef cattle parade was again headed by the Griffiths partnership of Trelech with their splendid five year old home bred British Limousin bull, Fasteuex, and, in the sheep classes, Eirlys and Barry Jones took supreme with a two year old Hampshire Down ram.
