Hakin United 12

Monkton Swifts 1

James Stanmore scored five goals and Justin Harding grabbed a hattrick as Hakin United ran riot against Monkton Swifts at the Obs.

This was probably the shock score line of the season as Swifts have not been playing that badly, but the runaway league leaders showed no mercy as they led seven-nil at half time and scored another five goals in the second half to secure their biggest win of the season.

This win extends the Vikings’ lead at the top to nine points. Within ten minutes they were three goals ahead, Harding, Stanmore and Harding grabbing the goals, slotting past Lance Creese.

Scott Davies added a fourth, Stanmore a fifth, Ashley Bevan buried the sixth and Stanmore added the seventh. Scott Davies lobbed Creese and the midfielder made sure it found the back of the net.

Stanmore struck goals number eight and nine.

Harding struck the 10th to complete his treble. Steve Mathias struck a sweet 25- yard shot for the 11th and Bevan also added the 12th from 12 yards for his second of the match.

The Swifts’ disastrous afternoon ended with Carl Rees scoring a consolation effort.
