ORGANISERS have given hope to those without a ticket for the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in Abereiddy next month.

The growing popularity of cliff diving saw the allocation of 2,500 tickets for the competition on Saturday, held at the Blue Lagoon in Abereiddy, snapped up inside 24 hours. And a further 2,500 tickets for the Friday competition also sold out quickly.

However, Red Bull will be welcoming water-based spectators to the competition on Saturday on a first come, first served basis.

People who turn up early with their inflatables will have a chance to get a spot close to the action. For more information visit www.redbullcliffdiving.com.

Wales will provide British reigning World Series champion Gary Hunt, and fellow Brits Mat Cowen and Blake Aldridge, with much valued home advantage.

Hunt, who is currently leading the World Series, is aiming for a fourth consecutive world title in 2013 after he claimed a hat-trick of titles with the very last dive of the 2012 season.

He said: "I can't wait to compete in Wales for the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. It was one of my favourite stops last year.

"Everyone was in great spirits and the location is incredible."
