WEST DRAGONS 1

HAKIN UNITED 3

VIKINGS substitute Aaron Owens grabbed two late goals to seal victory over West Dragons in their own backyard.

With the score level at one-goal apiece, the late introduction of Owens was vital as the striker bagged goals in the 81st and 83rd minutes to steal victory when a draw was on the cards.

The last time these two teams played each other was in last seasons Senior Cup semi-final where the Dragons caused an upset, but Gary Dawes Vikings were determined that they were not going to suffer the same fate this time.

However, the Dragons scored the opener with barely four minutes on the clock, Johnny Horgan drilling a low shot past James Manson from ten-yards.

Their lead was short-lived as the Vikings squared matters in the 12th minute; Michael Cooper made no mistake from close range.

This was the Dragons first defeat after a brilliant start to life in the top flight, they currently sit fourth in the table, and the early indications show signs of Nigel Delaneys team more than holding their own in this division.
