Narberth 3

West Dragons 1

A BRILLIANT second half display by Narberth earned them victory against West Dragons to reach the second round of the West Wales Intermediate Cup.

But the Bluebirds finished the game with ten men as defender Richard Henton was given an early shower for needlessly directing foul and abusive language at a linesman when his side were two-nil up.

After a goalless first period it was the visitors who could have taken the lead when keeper John Durbridge pulled off a superb save to deny Dragons striker Scott Crawford.

Shortly after half time and Narberths Dorian Davies opened the scoring with a delightful dipping direct free-kick and a few minutes later Ade Jones increased the lead, the midfielder latching onto a Morgan Preece cross and hitting his first-time shot into the roof of the net.

Henton was sent off and Morgan Preece added a third, again another fine strike that hit the roof of the net.

Fourteen minutes from full time and the visitors pulled a goal back through a Bradley Barrett header, but the Bluebirds held out comfortably to progress into the next round.
