A local footballing sensation who was raised in the Kilgetty area scored for Wales under 17s in their 3-0 victory in Slovenia.

Liam Cullen, was on target in a friendly under 17s international match, the 16-year-old has been in impressive form playing for Swansea City under 18s this season.

Last month, he featured up front for Swansea City under 18s in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea under 18s that was played at Landore Training Ground. Cullen also scored for the Swans in a disappointing FA Cup Youth defeat at home to Arsenal. He also featured in the MOTD Magazine looking at 20 wonder kids set for a big 2016.

The future certainly looks bright for the former Greenhill School pupil, as the top notch striker was also recently drafted in to train with the Swans’ first team squad.

Cullen definitely has the potential to go all the way and fulfil his ambition of becoming a professional with the Swans, and emulating former Pembrokeshire product Joe Allen, coming through the academy ranks, who regularly played in midfield for the Swans before he was transferred to Liverpool.
