THE Carmarthen Warriors reached yet another final in 2017 at the South Bristol 7s - although this time there was to be no winners trophy as they were edged out by the Nomads.
Arwel Davies and his fellow coaches choose to blood new players in the tournament, with Cardigan's Marcus Castle amongst those making a Warrior debut.
They won their opening pool game 17-14 against St Paul's Pirates, but a disjointed display saw them lose 27-14 against the Nomads in the second.
But they sealed a place in the final four with a thrilling 31-21 win over The Guardsman, with Gareth King in fine form.
That set up a semi final with the Welsh Guards, and the Warriors then turned in their best performance of the day, with a super individual score from Wayne Price inspiring a 26-7 victory.
But in the final against the Nomads, first half errors cost them as they eventually went down 26-14 - but it still proved a more than worthwhile tournament for the side with some newcomers gaining invaluable experience.
