Pembrokeshire rugby previews for Saturday, April 28th (2.30pm unless stated):

Championship (2pm):

Narberth v Tata Steel

Narberth's penultimate game of the season - and a huge one in the battle to finish second.

The Otters put everything into their game with Pontypool last Saturday, and pushed the champions harder than most this season before going down 27-20.

That left Sean Gale's men fourth, four points off second placed Tata, but crucially they and third placed Trebanos have just one left to play.

Rhys Lane comes onto the wing in the only change to the starting XV from last week - while James Stephenson comes back into the 20.

Narberth: Ianto Griffiths, Nick Gale, Kieran Jones, Paul Davies, Rhys Lane, Jonathan Rogers, Lewys Gibby, Bradley Davies, Dan Smith, Tom Slater, Jake Simm, Alex Jenkins, Rich Rees, Tom Powell, Steffan Phillips.

Replacements: Tom Kaijacks, Rhodri Owens, Dewi Williams, Kieran Griffiths, James Stephenson.

Division One West:

Crymych v Tenby United

The Preseli Men still have six games to play - and 14 points from here on in will guarantee survival.

They will see a chance to cut that deficit tomorrow against a Tenby side who has not played since April 7th, and who they beat 10-3 at Heywood Lane in March.

But The Seasiders themselves are not yet safe, and need six points from four games themselves to be sure of Division One next season.

The Tenby pack cannot allow The Preseli Men to dominate possession in the same way they did last time around - but given the home side's recent results, a 36-34 win over Llanelli Wanderers and a 44-39 loss at Felinfoel, we could be in for an open and exciting 80 minutes.

Division Two West:

Mumbles v Fishguard

Fishguard can now sit a lot easier despite losing this reverse fixture 34-31 just a week ago.

But the 46-13 midweek win in Tumble three days beforehand has given them breathing space, and they now lie 11 points clear of Amman United and the drop zone.

Both have three games left and meet on the final day - but if the valley side lose without a bonus point to Pontarddulais tomorrow, The Seagulls are safe regardless.

Either way, last Saturday's result will have given them the self belief to go to Swansea today and get the job done themselves.

Fishguard: Robbie Jones, Gareth Adamson, Thomas George, Ben John, Rhys Evans, Mike Jenkins (capt), Andrew Williams, Ryan McVeigh , Liam Wilkes, Neil Perkins, Jac Evans, Luke Freebury, Jordan James, Chris Shousha, Simon James.

Replacements: Mark Janes, Adam Bowen, Gwilim Evans, Lewis Davies, Daniel Evans.

Tumble v Whitland

The Borderers were promoted with that 34-10 win in Pontarddulais on Wednesday - but only half the job is not done.

Now they want to be champions and it is in their hands - depite Yr Hendy winning well in Loughor last night.

The Borderers trail the latter by five points but have four games left while their rivals have two. And what's more, the pair meet in Yr Hendy this coming Wednesday.

If Gareth Bennett and Dan Mason's side can keep their momentum going with a bonus point win here, they will go into that clash knowing they can afford to lose and yet still be champions.

Whitland: Aaron Ebsworth, Liam Price, Scott Lloyd, Josh Thomas, Sean Coles, Nico Setaro, Adam Davies, Tomos Evans, Marc Jones, Michael Ryan, Raff Williams, Ben Kirk, Ryan Michael, James Lewis, Jack Mason.

Replacements: Aaron Mayne, Gethin Lewis, Micaiah Jones, Ryan Morgan, G Setaro.

Division Three West A:

Cardigan v Llangwm (3pm)

The Teifisiders strugled to take a team to The Obs last Saturday and were humiliated 92-12.

In contrast, Llangwm fared much better at the same venue three days ago, battling hard before losing 38-17.

Cardigan have named a full squad for tomorrow, while The Wasps now just have two games to go to finish a difficult season.

But if they can travel with a strong enough team, the past week suggests they can compete here.

Cardigan: Llyr Jones, Casey Walters, Marcus Castle, William James Delve, Daf Owens, Iwan John, Matthew Roebuck, Andrew Jones, Ben Cox, Ben Hughes, Dean Harries, Toby Neilson, Tom Taylor, Gruffydd Lewis, Siôn Hughes.

Replacements: Luke Palmer-Davies, Elliot Dry, Gwion Morgan, Sion Phillips, Kieran Hurley.

Pembroke Dock Quins v Milford Haven

Like last Wednesday against Llangwm, the task for Milford is clear here - a bonus point win to put the pressure of Pembroke.

That would take The Mariners eight points clear of The Scarlets having played four games more, with the pair set to meet at Crickmarren on the final day of the season.

Milford laboured somewhat in their win against The Wasps on Wednesday, and are likely to lose Craig Barnett back to Tenby for this one - but they must find top gear against a Quins side beaten 64-24 by Laugharne last time out.

Ossie Boswell's side have tries in them but the question is whether their defence can stand up to Milford's powerful runners. Either way, The Quins need a strong display ahead of their Pembs KO Cup semi final against arch rivals Pembroke on May 8th.

Tregaron v Laugharne

Laugharne notched a great 22-10 win at Haverfordwest in midweek, and a top three finish seems secured.

As long as they have recovered from that game properly they will start favourites here against a Tregaron team hammered 52-19 by Neyland two weeks ago.

Like The Cocklemen, the mid-Wales team do like to play open rugby, so there should be tries aplenty in store over the 80 minutes.
