Division One previews for Saturday, May 12th (1.30pm):

Johnston v Haverfordwest

It has been a tough start for Johnston - and it won't get any easier tomorrow.

Their highest total thus far is 84 and last week it was Steve James, who has stepped back up to the First XI after years of running the Seconds, who top scored with 21.

Cresselly plundered 240-2 against them on Saturday and Simon Holliday, already with two centuries and a knock of 91 to his name, will be eyeing more big runs at Glebelands.

Former Johnston skipper Lee Summons also hit 55 for The Town in their win last time out at Cresselly, and Danny Potter's men will start big favourites here.

Kilgetty v Llangwm

It's early days, but one postponement and two defeats will already have sparked concern at Kilgetty.

Anthony Bevan was one plus point from from last week's loss at Tish, taking 4-26, but no one of yet as posted a significant score with the bat.

Llangwm meanwhile got up and running last time out with a two wicket win over Whitland, as James Venables showed his worth with 74 not out and 5-33.

Kilgetty are already 20 points adrift of safety, and can ill afford to drop further having not yet playes any of the top three. Llangwm meanwhile, will sense a chance to put early daylight between them and the bottom two.

Lawrenny v Burton

Both sides have one win to their name so far - but after posting 137-9 against Neyland last week, thanks to 48 from Richard Jones, Burton were blown away by Paul Murray's 94 not out.

Lawrenny were also humbled away to Haverfordwest, despite the efforts of Rob Williams (4-29) with the ball, so both will be looking to respond here.

Just two points separate them in the table in sixth and seventh respectively, and a win for either will oush them towards the top half.

Neyland v Cresselly

Undoubtedly the clash of the day comes with first against second at The Athletic Club.

Leaders Neyland have been clinical in beating Tish, Llangwm, and Burton so far, and opener 'Minty' Murray has been at his blistering best with the bat.

Sean Hannon also has ample bowling options available, but his attack will also have their work cut out against Cresselly openers Dan Sutton and Adam Chandler.

Sutton had a ton against Johnston last week as Chandler made 62, and Iwan Izzard's blast of 39 not out was a reminder of his danger.

Cresselly also have a range of bowling choices, with their wickets being shared between six players last week, most notably Ryan Lewis (3-10).

If both sides are on form, we could be in for a cracker.

Whitland v St Ishmaels

Whitland's loss at Llangwm last Saturday was coupled with a Harrison Allen Bowl defeat to Carew on Tuesday, so Iestyn Scourfield's side will want to get back on track here.

Again they may be hampered by Whitland RFC's crucial home game, with key all rounder Jonny Thomas unavailable.

Tish meanwhile, got their season up and running last week with the home win against Kilgetty, as skipper Phil Cockburn stood out with 60 and Andrew Pawlett took a vital 4-48.

Whitland are fourth but already 31 points away from the top three, and Tish are only 10 points further back but down in eighth place. Given the latter are away to Cresselly next week, they won't want to be in, or close to, the bottom two after this weekend.
