Joe Lennon Memorial Cup semi final: Milford United 0-2 Hakin United

Holders Hakin United will be gunning for a seventh straight Joe Lennon Cup win on Friday night after two goals from Adam ‘Titch’ John was enough for The Vikings to see off hosts Milford United at Marble Hall.

Kristan Bennett’s team were made to work hard by The Robins, although both sides were without key players as they continued their build up to the Division One season.

It was John to put Hakin into the lead when his shot was only half stopped by Milford keeper George Allerton, and crept into the net.

The winger doubled the lead before the break, tapping in after Allerton and home skipper Scott Griffiths had been involved in a mix up at the back.

There were no further goals after the break as Hakin set up a final with Herbrandston, again at Marble Hall, with a 6.15pm kick off this Friday night.

For Bennett's side, it means an eighth consecutive final appearance, only losing the first one, while Herbie are looking to win the pre-season trophy for th first time.
